Question:

FSX PMDG 747-400... SID's and STAR's?

Before I start with my question, I would just like to thank all the previous people who have taken the time and effort to answer my rather BORING questions regarding FSX and other stuff.

My question now is about SID's and STAR's for the PMDG 747 in FSX.

I can load up and follow my SID out of the airport after takeoff. When it comes to STAR's I have a bit more trouble. My LNAV seems to disconnect when I finish my route and never puts me on to the route of the STAR. This is rather annoying as I have to then follow it with heading select.

My second question is with SID's. As I said before, I can follow them but sometimes, there is a gap between the waypoints where my SID ends and my flight plan starts. What do I do then?

Your help is appreciated and thankyou.

  1. If there is a gap between them, you may have the wrong SID, or you may need to make a direct line between them. The same is probably occurring with the STARs.

Open the LEGS page, and look for the part of the route relevant. If you can see a line with a bunch of boxes, or with -DISCONTINUITY- in there, then there is a gap in the route. Select the waypoint after, and up-select it into the gap, this will cause the discontinuity to disappear, and the plane will fly in LNAV straight between the two waypoints.
