  1. For the price and the form-factor, I'd make that a lot better than an average camera. Indeed, I'd say that's a quite good deal, and a nice choice if you're looking for something that's really small and pocket-able.

    It has Fuji's Super-CCD sensor, which - pound-for-pound, or square-millimeter-for-square-millimeter - is the best on the market, particularly in low light. At least some of the later similar Fujis (like the Z10) do not have the Super-CCD.

    It is about as slim as cameras reasonably get, at 8/10 of an inch. Obviously, it's built to go into a pocket or a purse, which is a nice thing if you're planning to put it into a pocket or a purse.

    Is it going to perform as well as an SLR? No. Not even close. But it doesn't cost $2,000 and it isn't a five-pound weight around your neck either.
