Fabian Delph aims for an injury-free season at Aston Villa – EPL News
Talented Aston Villa midfielder, Fabian Delph, has claimed that injuries have made him a stronger person and hopes that the upcoming 2011/12 Barclays Premier League would be an improvement.
Delph had a mixed 2010/11 season as the midfielder kept struggling with injuries throughout the campaign.
On April 17, 2010, Delph suffered a career threatening injury while training with Aston Villa. The English midfielder was diagnosed with a cruciate ligament injury which forced him out of action for eight months.
The former Leeds United player missed first half of the Barclays Premier League 2010/11 season. Though he returned against Manchester City, the English midfielder injured his ankle this time around, which set him back a few weeks. It was not over for the
midfielder and he suffered yet another ankle injury during Aston Villa’s win over Liverpool.
Where Delph was expected to be out of action for six months, the 21-year-old has shown extraordinary recovery and is aiming to be a part of Alex McLeish’s squad for the next season.
Delph stayed at Aston Villa’s medical complex over the summers in order to regain his fitness and is aiming to return to action in the third week of pre-season.
“I think I'm due an injury-free season so hopefully this year will be the one. It has been up and down for me since I have joined but I've stayed positive and I think I have got stronger mentally. Hopefully I can break through." Delph said.
Delph also revealed that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 defender is also recovering from his knee operation at the Aston Villa medical complex.
Delph stated, “With Carlos around every day is entertaining. He has had a knee operation and his spirit is so high. His motivation and desire to get back fit just makes me look up to him as a professional. He is still the same chirpy guy who is joking and
laughing every two minutes. That helps.”
