Brazil’s Fabiana Silva made her presence felt to the world as she played elevated game and defeated Canada’s Phyllis Chan in an epic Women’s Singles match at XVII Pan Am Badminton Championships Team Event in Peru, on Monday, October 8.
The talented Fabiana was everywhere on court as she played with remarkable control and precision and she managed to stamp her mark over Phyllis in three games while working to her maximum potential for 40 minutes.
Fabiana tried her best to take the opening game but failed to maintain her speed in ending points and lost it with a close score.
However, Brazilian shuttler made a strong come back in the contest and took the following games with a decent margin on score board.
In the meanwhile, Phyllis played dominating badminton and took the opening game but she failed to remain consistent on court and eventually bowed down to her Brazilian rival in three games with a respectable difference.
In the first game, both shuttlers entertained the local fans by employing their remarkable skills and managed to stay equal on score board until the one-minute break.
After the one-minute interval, Fabiana lost her control when it mattered most as she failed to dictate the pace of rallies and lost the set with a 19-21 score on the board.
In the following set, it was Fabiana controlled the affairs of rallies by playing with tremendous aggression and remained in command until the break.
After the mid-game interval, Fabiana continued her staggering play without dropping her speed and remained successful in securing the second set with a 21-18 score on the board.
In the final set, Phyllis tried to take lead at the initial stage but she failed to dictate the pace of rallies and remained behind her opponent until the mid-game interval.
After the break, Fabiana took over the control from her rival and eventually managed to finish up the third set with a three-point advantage of 21-18.
The lofty Fabiana overpowered Phyllis in a spectacular three-set contest in 40 minutes with a 19-21, 21-18 and 21-18 score on the board.
