AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-Borini-c13163 is reported to be contemplating making a switch to Liverpool during the summer transfer window.
It is no hidden secret that the Merseyside club have been keeping close tabs on the 21-year old for quite some time now, with some rumours even suggesting that the Reds are close to finalizing a deal with the Italian International.
Liverpool are yet to make their first summer signing. However, if some reports are to be believed, they are also closing in on the Fulham’s striker Clint Dempsey who is expected to land at Anfield some time this week.
As Rodgers looks to strengthen his attacking front, keeping in view the Reds apparent struggles in the previous season to score goals, his interest in Borini is understandable. The striker has worked alongside the Irishman at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, where he was in charge
of the reserve team, and also played under his management at Swansea City on a brief loan spell.
However, the player’s agent Marco De Marchi revealed that all the three parties involved were carrying out meetings over the subject of Borini’s possible transfer to Liverpool, but remained coy over his client’s inclination.
He also mentioned that Roma have highlighted a clause in the player’s contract with the Serie A side, which is believed to be the impeding factor between the two clubs for the move to go ahead.
De Marchi told reporters in an interview, “Roma has informed us of Liverpool’s interest in the boy. Now it's up to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-c13152 to have his say. We were alerted by Roma of the existence of this deal. I cannot honestly tell you the details but, as [sporting director,
Walter] Sabatini has already said, we're now seriously considering it.”
When asked if the player wants to go to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809, his representative responded by saying that for now he cannot divulge anything for sure. However, he indicated that the final outcome will present itself very soon.
The juvenile striker was a huge success at Stadio Olimpico during his debut 2011/12 season with the Italian side, as he netted 10 goals in just 26 appearances.
