Fabio Borini not offered new contract
Fabio Borini, the 19-year-old striker who has emerged from the Bologna youth academy, has not been offered a new contract by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 according to the player’s agent. Borini joined the Chelsea reserve team in 2007 and despite being one of the most exciting
young players has failed to make it to the first team at Stamford Bridge.
In his second season for the Blues' reserve side, Borini earned the first choice striker position and proved his worth by scoring 10 goals in 11 appearances, which made him the highest goal scorer that season. For the senior team though he has only made
four appearances and has not been able to find the back of the net.
Borini is part of the Italy under-21 International team but has so far not been as successful at Chelsea, which has raised questions about his future. There have been plenty of offers for the player for some top sides, but the Blues are yet to make a decision
about the player’s future at the club.
Borini’s agent recently spoke to the media about the player and revealed the Italian international was doing well at Chelsea. He said, “Fabio is fine; he has recovered from injury and is available again. He has been playing in Chelsea's reserve team and
doing well.”
However, the player’s representative did admit that the Blues had not offered Borini a new contract, which meant that the player would be free to leave when his contract expires in the summer. He continued, “His contract will expire on 30th June and I don't
know anything about a possible renewal. I have not spoken to anyone at Chelsea.”
The 19-year-old has been approached by many sides from both England and Italy, Borini’s agent added, “He is a striker that is tempting many clubs because managers appreciate not only his physical attributes, but also his character. There are many clubs interested
in him - in Italy, England and all over the world.”
However, Borini’s representative refused to comment on the player’s future, saying it was too early for such speculation. He said they would wait and see how things went over the upcoming months before making a decision about the Italian striker’s future.
