The former Partenopei defender feels that the onus lies on the Naples side to cement their chances of qualifying into the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League.
Cannavaro was ecstatic to hear about the result of the first-leg tie at the Stadio San Paolo, which saw the Azzurri register a 3-1 win over Chelsea.

However, the experienced defender knows that complacency cannot set in and his former employers must go for the kill in the second-half.
While reflecting on the pending second-leg between the two clubs, the former Real Madrid star is pragmatic and has forewarned the Partenopei side on what to expect from the tie. He remarked:
“The return leg at Stamford Bridge won’t be easy. There will be a hot environment and they’ll need to take a step up in quality to defend their advantage, as their lead may not be enough.”
Cannavaro feels that Napoli must look to score an early goal at Stamford Bridge stamp their authority on the tie.
He said: “They’ll have to score at least one goal against the Blues.”
The former Juventus star is full of admiration for the Naples outfit stating that they showed great mental toughness and strength of character throughout the match. He is happy to see the Azzurri amalgamate into a cohesive unit
