England took on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wales-c3041 last night at Wembley and despite the home side not being favoured to come out on top, they ended the game by edging past their opponents by a goal to nil.
That win saw England go on and win their first game after failing to do so on four occasions. However, despite that fact Capello was not very pleased with what he saw in the game.
Ashley Young scored the goal for England that gave them the narrow win over their opponents. However, the match could have potentially ended as a draw, had http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robert-c31222 Earnshaw managed to find the back of the net after getting free right in front of the goal
in the second half.
Following the conclusion of the game, Capello has gone on to admit that his side were lucky to say the least. He then went on to add that the Wembley crowd actually adds more pressure on the players shoulders, as compared to helping them perform better.
"Yes, we were lucky," Capello said in his post-match press conference.
"Here [at Wembley], we lose the confidence. Some players usually can dribble and go straight at the goal. I always want three players in front of goal for crosses but there was only ever one.”
Te manager then went on to admit that his team started the game on a low and then ended on the same note as well.
"We didn't play well in the first 20 minutes and in the last 15 minutes we suffered a lot. We didn't play good passes and never pressed the ball.”
Despite that fact, the manager didn’t really pinpoint any single players performance for being the reason behind the team’s poor performance, but instead stated that on the whole, the team lacked confidence and a cutting edge.
"All the players played the same level, some moments well, some with and without confidence”
During the game, it was http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Frank-Lampard-c14097 couldn’t really give an exceptional performance in the game.
However, it is impossible to blame the team’s poor performance on just once player, considering the fact that no one really stepped up to take charge.
Nonetheless, Capello along with the rest of the England squad are more than grateful over the fact that the team is now back to their winning ways and will only be looking to better themselves from here on.
