Fabio Capello credits Scott Parker and defence for England’s win over Spain – EPL News
Fabio Capello has hailed the impressive performance of the Three Lions centre-halves, Phil Jagielka and Joleon Lescott, and defensive midfielder Scott Parker in the famous win over Spain at Wembley Stadium.
England welcomed world champions Spain for an international friendly match, after both sides secured automatic qualification for the next summers' EURO 2012 in the last qualifying round.

“This evening the two centre-backs played fantastic games. Every time Spain tried to play through they were in good positions. They played with good confidence.”
Influential Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Scott Parker was named Man of the Match as the former West Ham skipper thrived in a defensive midfield.
Capello hailed Parker’s contribution and has asserted that the 31-year-old is improving every game. The former AC Milan boss said, “Parker, it was an incredible performance. He is improving every game. He is a really good player. He is an important player
in front of the back four.”
Despite the win, Capello has revealed that he will stick to his original plan of rotating and making wholesome changes to England’s starting eleven for the upcoming friendly match against Sweden.
