Fabio Capello favours English managers to replace him

England’s current manager, Fabio Capello strongly believes that in order for England to perform to their full potential in the future, the next manager to take charge of the team needs to be English.
After saying that the manager has gone ahead and tipped Sam Allardyce and Harry Redknapp to take over once he calls it quits in 2012.
The English Football Association have also stated recently that once the manager does call it quits, then they plan to potentially find an English heir to the Italian’s throne this time around, as opposed to trying to bring in foreign managers once again.
So far out of the two, Tottenham’s manager Harry Redknapp has been the strong favourite to be brought in to replace the manager. This is because Redknapp has managed to do wonders with his Tottenham side and has successfully managed to take a team that was
struggling in the league, to a team that has just managed to top it’s group in the Champions League.
However in Allardyce defence, he has also had more than a decent spell in the English top-flight, over the course of the last nine years that he has spent managing teams in the Premier League.
Fabio Capello was asked recently as to he would like to see replace him as the new boss of England and the Italian is reported to have said the following in response to that question: "In this moment Allardyce and Redknapp are doing very well because they
have different players, they have good style and get results with them.”
However, it seems like Allardyce is unsure as to whether he can take over the responsibilities that he would inherit after becoming the new England manager. The Blackburn manager is reported to have said that despite the offer being as good as it gets, there
are far too many challenges that come to the table with managing international teams and he personally feels like at the current moment in time, he does not have the capability of performing wonders with the English team.
It was previously strongly rumoured that Capello would be sacked as England’s manager after the rather poor and weak showing in the FIFA World Cup 2010. However, to everyone’s surprise the FA stood by the managers side and stated that he still needed time
to perform wonders with the team.
Nonetheless, almost immediately after the world cup, the manager went to the press and stated his desire to leave the team once the Euro Championships in 2012 were over. As a result, the manager ended up causing even more problems to the FA than they had
initially anticipated. This is because with the manager departing from the team in 2012, or near the end of 2012, whoever does eventually come in to replace the manager, will only have around a year and a half or two years at the most to rebuild the English
team and make them World Cup contenders.
What would have been better for the team would have been if they let Capello depart now so that the same manager could take the team to the Euro championship and the World Cup. But with the FA being as stubborn as they are, they are unlikely to admit their
mistakes and as a result, the team seems to be in line to suffer some more hardships in the future.
