Fabio Capello is determined to prove himself

After England’s failures at the World Cup, in South Africa, it was Fabio Capello who came under intense criticism by the English press. Therefore, the English boss is determined to prove his critics wrong in this aspect, by working hard with in his job.
England has had a very rough road since the qualifying round of last Euro Cup. The team failed to qualify for the cup, which resulted in the toppling of Eriksson and giving the job to an Italian, in the shape of Fabio Capello. The road to the World Cup was great for the English boss, but the World Cup was abysmal. The English team failed to emerge on top of their group, and as a consequence, they faced a young German side in their second round. The result of the second round was again heartbreaking for Capello, as his side was humiliated by the Germans.
In fact, the English were having their problems for a very long time, even before the Euro of 2008. Their team did manage to qualify for the big tournaments, but they were always knocked out before making any major impact in the tournaments. This was happening despite the presence of big players in their sides, including David Beckham, Steven Gerrard, Michael Owen and many more. So, Capello vowed to set things right for English, but the critics felt that he failed to deliver the promises as well.
Fabio Capello was blamed for everything after the English side performed poorly in the World Cup. He was criticised for his poor tactics that led to many players being left ineffective during their matches, particularly Wayne Rooney. When Capello came to the side, he was determined to bring in some youngsters to the squad. However, in the end, he relied on the senior players once again, who let him down in South Africa. So, the criticism came his way for his poor team selection as well.
Once again, Capello is ready to prove all his critics wrong. As a manager, he can only do so by bringing success to their side. Capello has done just that by successfully starting the English qualifying campaign for the Euro 2012. England beat Bulgaria by 4-0, in almost a one-sided match, showing a lot of strength and quality. However, Capello still finds it hard to please his critics, as he is still waiting for any positive coverage for his great results.
On the contrary, the English press reported that Capello only made changes to his English side in order to bring down the criticism against him. So, during the selection Capello relied heavily on some young players for his squad, which again goes against him. Also, he started Jermain Defoe, who scored a hat-trick for his team. In South Africa, Capello initially started Heskey to do the striker’s job, which proved to be a big failure.
During an interview with the press, Capello remained unhappy with his critics and English press. He said that the English press was wrong most of the times in judging him. He believed that he made some mistakes but those were not grave enough to get him such strong criticisms. Capello also recalled his career as a young player, when he got injured and it was widely believed that his career would not be long. Despite these speculations, Capello fought his way back into football.
By giving such a statement, Capello called himself a great fighter, who would once again prove his critics wrong, by staging a comeback. But this time, rather than relying on himself, he would have to look at his players who will deliver the goods for him. Also, Capello did well in qualifying last time around, while he failed to do so in the tournament. So, this time the press will remain cautious before they give him praises, while they will also wait for the Euro 2012, to see the results of Capello’s efforts.
