England coach Fabio Capello is likely to call youngsters for a friendly fixture against France this Saturday.
Among the names under consideration is Andy Carroll of Newcastle United who cemented his place after scoring the winning goal against Gunners.
Another name that is likely to be in the team is Jack Wilshere of Arsenal. The young midfielder is almost a permanent part of the team under Arsene Wenger and will definitely be considered by Capello.
But among the certainties is Aston Villa’s youngster Gabriel Agbonlahor who made a good comeback against Blackpool after an injury. But his performance against Manchester United will be watched keenly by Capello this weekend.
Capello’s decision to bring in young players for the friendly is an attempt to fulfil a promise he made at the time of signing his contract with England.
He promised to bring young players to the top, but failed to deliver his promise.
Only a few of the players were promoted, but some of them were again dropped during the World Cup. Understandably, he was criticised for his failure as the senior players like Wayne Roony, Jermain Defoe and Bobby Zamora did not prove successful during the
mega event.
It is about time for the England manager to adjust his tactics and show the world the brilliant talent they possess.
