The former England national team manager has come out in his defence amidst the criticism that has been levied at him in the English press and revealed that the English players did not understand him well enough to comprehend
what he meant when he spoke to them during his stint as the Three Lions manager...
Amidst recent reports that the former England national team manager is set to help out Cesare Prandelli, the Italian national team manager with advice on England’s weaknesses, Capello has come out and defended himself against criticism
which has been aimed at him through the English press. Capello parted ways with the Three Lions earlier on in the year after F.A subverted him to dismiss http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/John-Terry-c18895 as the England national team manager.
Capello handed in his resignation as a result and Roy Hodgson was appointed as the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 manager thereafter. Hodgson has taken the England team to the quarterfinals of the European Championships where they are set to take on
Italy on Sunday.
Capello had previously tipped England to at least make it to the quarterfinals but now things will get tough for the Three Lions as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Greece-c2908.
Capello, who has been criticized for not managing England well enough especially after their shambolic display at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/South-Africa-c757, has now defended himself against such allegations.
He said,   “Look, when I spoke they did understand me. But every now and then, when I tried to explain tactics, things didn’t work out.
You know what? Maybe it’s because Rooney doesn’t speak English. He doesn’t understand English.”
The Italian tactician made the latter part of his remarks as a sarcastic comment but the English press has picked them up in a demeaning sense and built them up as a criticism of Rooney’s linguistic skills.
Nonetheless, England will want to turn their attention towards the match against Italy where they have a chance to prove their doubters wrong and make it to the semi-finals of the European Championships for the first time since
1996 when they lost to Germany in the semi-finals.
