The Portuguese international was given an extended period of vacations but decided to cut short his holidays to participate in the fifth edition of the Eusebio Cup.

Coentrao revealed that his earlier than expected return was in part to travel with Real Madrid to native Portugal, and being eligible to face Benfica in Lisbon. He added that the top tier Portuguese outfit will always be home for him, claiming that the stadium
holds a special place in his heart.
Continuing on the topic, an ecstatic Coentrao shared that he had no qualms at losing out on his precious holiday extension as it is worthwhile when looked at in the long run.

Ahead of Friday’s exhibition match, Eusebio took out time to thank Real Madrid for accepting Benfica’s invitation. He added that it is an honour to have a club with the stature of the Spanish champions competition in the showpiece event.
Eusebio had further words of praise for Jose Mourinho’s charges, hailing them as one of the best teams in world football. The once prolific goal scorer reckoned that the fans will have a good spectacle in front of them as the two teams lock horns for the
pre-season competition.
The retired Portugal footballer shared that he has a special predilection for Los Blancos. Eusebio shared that he has always dreamed of playing at the Santiago Bernabeu in the white shirt and have respected them over the years.
