The Bianconeri striker has stated that the Old Lady should mentally prepare themselves for a long and testing season, following the added responsibilities of the European Competition.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-Quagliarella-c13194 has voiced his expectations of a challenging experience in the 2012-13 campaign, and has stated that the added pressure of UEFA Champions League will put a lot of strain on the Old Lady squad.
Juventus rose to the top of Serie A to capture the Scudetto against all odds with an undefeated season, but the league success had a lot to do with the absence of the team from European competitions.
However, the Old Lady have qualified for the next year’s Champions League, and will have the added matches against top sides from all over Europe to strain their weekly schedule.
Quagliarella revealed that he plans on starting his own training soon, and will continue to train until the start of the official pre-season training with Juventus.
The Bianconeri striker revealed that he expects the upcoming season to be a long and tiring one for all the players in the squad, as the Italian Champions will hope to extend their supremacy to the European stage.
The former Napoli-man stated that the addition of Champions League matches in their schedule will mean that the players will be required to play an average of two games per week, and insisted that the season will pose an enormous challenge for all the players.
While talking to Sky Sport Italia, the 29-year-old said:
“I’ll soon start to train on my own ahead of the new term. Then the serious work will start in pre-season when the squad meets up. It’ll be a long campaign, there will be the Champions League and therefore the hope that we can do well on all fronts. However, that means that we would be playing every three days and it certainly won’t be easy to do that.”
Quagliarella scored four goals in the 23 appearances for Juventus across all competitions in the 2011-12 season, and was formerly also a part of Italian national team for the Euro 2008 and World Cup 2010 competitions.
