The soon-to-be former Barca head coach led the Catalans to 13 trophies during his reign of 4 years, his first season being the significantly successful. Vilanova is a man who has served as his right hand throughout his tenure as the head of affairs at the
Nou Camp.
Before Vilanova’s appointment as the new manager of the Copa del Rey finalists, a number of other suitable candidates were brought under consideration. According to reports, Athletic Bilbao’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marcelo-c23554 Bielsa was amongst the candidates and there was a fair

Fabregas has shown support for the soon-to-be head coach.
While talking to reporters, the World Cup winner was quoted as saying:
"First of all, I must say that Tito is a very good person. He also shares the same virtue with Pep in that he knows how to get the best out of players. I do not like to make predictions but Barca should look great with Tito.”
"I like the continuity that is being given to the club, because this team has surpassed [Johan Cruyff's] 'Dream Team' and all previous historical records, so that this opportunity has been given to Tito, after Pep has done it all, is very good.”
Barcelona are set to lock horns with Athletic Bilbao in the final of the Copa del Rey on May 25th. The Copa showdown will be Pep Guardiola’s last game as La Blaugrana head coach.
