The match between Portugal and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 ended in a draw, hence the two sides had to settle the tie through penalties and Cesc Fabregas was the one who took the last one.
The Spanish midfielder, Cesc Fabregas, admitted that he wanted to take the fifth penalty even though the team wanted me to take the second.
Spain and Portugal faced each other in the semi-final stage of the Euro 2012. Spain were favourites to win the game, and it was considered as the defending champions will easily beat their opponents. However, Portugal were not ready to give up without a
fight and they were able to make things difficult for Spain.

With normal time finishing without a goal for either side, the match went into extra time and they were still unable to decide the winner. Therefore, both the sides had to settle for a draw, and hence the match headed into a penalty shootout.
Spain were without the services of a few of their first-choice penalty takers as Xavi Hernandez and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-Ramos-c33096, Iniesta and Cesc Fabregas.
Cesc Fabregas, while speaking about the situation which Spain faced when they were going to take the penalty kicks, said that the team wanted him to take the second penalty; however, he himself told them that he’ll take the last penalty, which eventually
turned out to be the winner.

Spain were able to win on penalties but it was Cesc Fabregas who had to go through a lot of pressure as he was the one taking the last penalty, which needed to be converted in order for Spain to win the game.
While speaking to the press, Fabregas said:
"We had to make history," he said.
"I had a funny feeling about the penalties and I was thinking about them this afternoon.”
"They told me initially to take the second one but I said 'no, give me the fifth' as I had this premonition.”
Spain will now be taking on either http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 in the final of the Euro 2012.
