After picking up a thigh injury during the Copa del Rey final, Cesc Fabregas has been ruled out for 10 days but promises that he’ll make a return for the international competition.
Barcelona faced Athletic Bilbao in the Copa del Rey final on Friday. It was a game which was important to all the Barcelona players since it was their only chance to not only redeem their season, but also to give a departing gift to their legendary coach,
Josep Guardiola, who will not be coaching them after this game.
Each and every player gave his best during the game and eventually http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 were 3-0 victors and were crowned as Copa del Rey champions of this season.
The Spanish midfielder, Cesc Fabregas, did not start the game and came off as a substitute. However, he picked up a thigh injury and the club medics have clearly stated that the Spaniard will be out of action for at least 10 days.
Barcelona number 4 might not be the player who will start for the Spanish national team during the Euro 2012 campaign, but there is no doubt that he is one of the only few players who can replace the legendary Xavi Hernandez in the centre of the pitch.
Cesc Fabregas’ second part of the Spanish football season was not as good as it was expected of him. The injuries and fitness issues kept pulling him back from giving outstanding performances.
However, despite the fact that he was only above average for the latter part of the season, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vicente-c36001 Del Bosque decided to keep him in the team when he announced the Spanish squad for the international footballing competition.
While addressing his fans via twitter, Cesc Fabregas said:
“Thank u all for caring abt (sic) my injury. Im (sic) fine and with no pain. Soon will be 100 [percent] ready to start preparing the euros with the national team.”
This year it is going to be a tough task which the Spaniards are going to face. They are currently the defending champions of the prestigious European tournament and they also have a huge ‘favourites’ tag upon their shoulders.
However, with teams like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Republic-of-Ireland-c2987 in their group, things might get tough for them.
