Fabregas will never go to Real Madrid: Victor Valdez
Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdez has claimed that Cesc Fabregas will never consider a move to Real Madrid. Valdez’s comments come in the wake of reports linking the Arsenal captain with a move to the Santiago Bernabéu. It was speculated that Fabregas could
join Real Madrid in the summer, with the Galácticos preparing an audacious €60 million bid for the player.
However, Victor Valdez believes it’s not going to happen. The Catalan shot stopper has claimed that if Fabregas does indeed play in the La Liga one day, it will be for Barcelona.
Speaking on recent reports of Fabregas’ possible transfer, Valdez said, “I can't imagine Cesc in the white jersey [of Real Madrid]. As far as I know, I think his wish is to come back here [to Barcelona] to his home. He knows the system here perfectly and
would fit in very well.”
Barcelona is Fabregas’ boyhood club. The Spaniard spent the early stages of his career as a youth player at the Nou Camp. He was signed by Arsenal in the summer of 2003. After seven years of playing in the English Premier League (EPL), the midfielder decided
it was time to go home. The Arsenal captain expressed his desire to rejoin Barcelona last summer, but so far, his move is being impeded by manager Arsène Wenger.
Fabregas has been hugely influential for the Gunners in recent seasons, and Wenger has made it clear that he has no intention of letting his star player go. The Catalans have been after Cesc Fabregas since the summer of 2010, but the club’s director Raul
Sanllehi recently conceded that there is no hope of a deal being struck.
It is believed that Arsène Wenger could be enticed to change his mind about Fabregas if an offer of €60 million was put on the table, something that Real Madrid are apparently willing to do. However, it seems unlikely that the Spaniard would move to the
Santiago Bernabéu, especially since he has such deep-rooted ties with their arch-rivals, Barcelona.
