Granada coach Fabri unhappy with referee after 0-1 defeat against Barcelona – La Liga News
An unimpressive Barcelona defeated Granada at home to take all the points on offer. Los Rojiblancos Horizontales coach, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabri-c13206 Gonzalez, is unhappy with the referee who cost them the match.
Fabri was unhappy with the two evictions his team had to bear with, and the offside call on striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Geijo, who was in a good position to score.
El Grana have blamed Muniz Fernandez http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danny-c10193 Romero Benitez their marching orders to leave the home side chasing the game.
He was also deeply upset with the nonexistent offside call on Alex Geijo, who was one on one with Barcelona goalkeeper, Victor Valdes.
Granada coach, Fabri Gonzalez, complained that the referee "undermined" his team’s performance and was responsible for the result in Los Carmenes.
The manager has lodged formal complaints about the Spanish referee, who showed seven yellow cards and two red cards to Granada players.
Gonzalez lamented Jamie’s eviction that led to Xavi’s goal and also argued both of his sending off calls, which were not merited in his eyes.
He also raised the question about Geijo’s positioning in the offside ruling. He said that with the striker alone with the goalkeeper, it would have allowed his team a way back into the game. But they were robbed by the referee, according to the manager.
"We are not stupid but the referee has undermined us," added Fabri.
Granada coach commented on the impact of the officials’ decisions on the match and added that his team was left with no choice but to "defend a static score near the area and were left with no space for them to play."
Nevertheless, Fabri was happy with the performance of his players and said that they did pretty well against La Liga champions.
With Barcelona known to generate eight or ten goalscoring chances, it is always difficult for Granada to play against them.
The experienced manager went on to say that the result showed that they have the ability to hold-off quality attack and have come out of the game with knowledge of their abilities.
"This is the way forward, we must continue working," an optimistic Fabri said about the future.
