Fabric softener stained my shirt!!!!???

okay so i bought a really cute shirt this week and its a graphic tee i bought at body central. its black and it says "world peace think love" on it in letters sort of like printing and i washed it by hand today in my bathroom sink added some soap then rinsed and i filled the sink with water then i put a little fabric softener in the water then put the shirt and left it there for 10 minutes and when i came back the words where are stained really bad. the words are originally gold and now they turned gray and i tried rubbing the fabric softener stain and it doesnt come off. i dont know why the fabric softener stained it and how to take it off. please help!

Amazingly neat fabric conditioner bleaches.  I know this because friends young son spilled some on the lounge carpet.

Sorry but there is nothing you can do for that.

If the letters are a different material, like screen printing or something, there was probably a chemical reaction that took place with the fabric softener. You probably used too much, and it was not diluted enough.

In a full washer load it says, not to pour directly on fabrics(because it will discolor them), it says to dilute it first, or add at a certain point in the wash cylcle. And you only use like 1/4 cup, less for concentrated kinds.
