The Rosanero attacker has expressed his disappointment with the club who have not given him a contract extension just as yet; and talks about Al-Nasr as well.
The Aquile captain was expecting a resolution to be made to his situation a long time back; however, the club have lingered talks for some time now, and Miccoli was not pleased at all.
The striker still has another year to his contract, but he expected the situation to be resolved sooner than this. His contract talks have stalled whereas talks on Balzaretti’s contract and future have been consistently making the news.
The Rosanero captain has not hidden his intent on finishing his career at the club, and he is growing increasingly frustrated with the lack of talks over the contract.
When quizzed whether he feels he has been dealt with differently than Federico Balzaretti, the Rosanero wing-back. The former Azzurri international went on to state that he was not entirely sure of the situation, but given his age and the great tournament
he had at the European Championships, he felt that there might be differential treatment going on.
He further went on to comment:
“I don’t know if I should have been treated differently. My situation is different to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Federico-Balzaretti-c13451’s, he had a great Euro 2012, he is two years younger than me and I want to see if his contract is allowed to run down.”
The striker went on to state that he likened his situation to Antonio Di Natale, and wanted to be given the same respect that Udinese give their striker. He remarked:
“I would have expected the same treatment that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Antonio-Di-Natale-c6306 had from Udinese when they offered him a new deal.”
The former Benfica man went on to comment on several offers he had rejected in order to remain at the club; and commented:
“I’ve had a variety of offers and have always rejected them.”
His loyalty with the club might be reason for his discontent with the Rosanero outfit, but Miccoli was very close to signing on for Al-Nasr; however Maurizio Zamparini blocked any deal from taking place.
