Fabulous Four to play in the 2011 Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship.

The HSBC Golf Championship that will take place from the 20-23rd has a very promising field ahead. The richest leg of the Desert Swing events, that will take place in 2011, will have all the four major players competing in it. This would be the first
time the prestigious quartet has taken part in an event in Dubai.
The championship committee has taken the British Open Champion, Louis Oosthuizen, the Ulster’s Open Winner Graeme McDowell, the defending U.S Masters Champion Phil Mickelson and the USPGA Championship winner, Martin Kaymer .Kaymer, who recently won the 2010
Race to Dubai list is also the defending champion of the event, and will play along fellow championship winners at the Abu Dhabi Golf Club’s National Course.
“This great news means that our annual European Tour-backed championship now boasts three of the world’s top four players and five of the top 10,” said Faisal Al Sheikh, Events Manager, Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA), the championship organiser. “The
2011 Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship isn’t big, it’s Major!”
Al Sheikh said that even though this tournament has attracted the most famous names in golf, it would next year’s tournament that will be the biggest yet. It will be grand in terms of strength, entertainment and quality. He said having the reigning major
winner, the world number one and the defending champion all together is definitely going to start a spark. Proud of what the field is supposed to look like, he said a course like this is still unheard in North America.
Along with the fabulous four, the new world number one, Lee Westwood and number seven Paul Casey will be playing. Casey is a two-time Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship winner.
The quartet is also very upbeat about teeing off against one another.
In July 2010, Louis really set the course on fire as he won by seven strokes in St. Andrews. Even though he hasn’t ever won, his top five finishes in the previous two Abu Dhabi Championships hint at his brilliance. Now being a major winner, Louis has eyes
set on glory in Abu Dhabi. He said he really wants 2011 to initiate on a good note especially as he also suffered from an injury this year.
The South African player injured his ankle ligaments after stepping in a pothole and couldn’t take part in important events such as the Grand Slam. He is looking forward to competing on full schedule and being injury free next year. Hopefully, things stay
safe for the player and he is able to revive the same confidence he once had after winning his first major.
Out of all the players in the prestigious quartet, Graeme McDowell would be the most concerned in stretching his 2010 form into next year. Being very close to topping the money list, McDowell not only won the U.S Open this year, but sunk the winning hole
for the European Ryder Cup team. Having seven wins so far, Graeme hopes to attain his eighth in Abu Dhabi.
He said that this event is known for its amazing hospitality and friendliness to everyone. The players, the officials, the spectators, they all enjoy it equally. Revealing his excitement to compete, Graeme said he can’t wait to get there and kick off the
new season. Commenting on the playing conditions, the reigning U.S Open winner said that the Abu Dhabi weather is amazing along with the state of the art National Course.
This Championship is an important part of the European Tour and coming so early in the year, all the stars are hoping to start their 2011 season with a bang. With the best four players of 2010 competing for the Falcon Trophy next year, the 2011 Abu Dhabi
HSBC Golf Championship will definitely be a thrilling one to follow.
