Fabulous Shanty displays fabulous speed and stamina at Hove

Fabulous Shanty clinched victory in the 515 metres Grade A2 race at Hove in England on Sunday, February 5, 2012. She was not the favourite to win, but still managed to earn a cash prize of £129.
The triumphant b***h has been turning in some impressive performances over the past few months, and that helped her get a decent starting price of 5 to 2. Although she had to work extremely hard, the performance would have pleased her team.
J. Gammon’s trained greyhound completed the race distance in 30.54 seconds, after breaking in from trap number two. She did not get off to a good start, as she was crowded early. However, her stamina was good enough to take her at the top of the table
in the end.
Fabulous Shanty is the daughter of Fabulous Snowy, out of Bright Ebony, and was born in January, 2010.
Second place went to Alfatwelldigger, trained by W. Wrighting. He was in a very good position to win, but gave it away in the end. His speed at the start was impressive and that almost guided him to victory.
However, Alfatwelldigger lacked the stamina that was needed to win a 515 metres race. He completed the race distance in 30.56 seconds, after popping out from trap number one. His trainer would have been disappointed, as his dog led most of the race
until giving it away in the end.
The runner up dog is the son of Hondo Dingle, out of Riverside Polly, and was born in May, 2008.
Third place went to Fork Handles, who also gave a tough time to the top two finishers. He went into the race from trap number four, and completed the overall distance in 30.60 seconds. He also had a decent starting price of 3 to 1.
D. Knight’s trained dog is the son of Westmead Hawk, out of Jazz Hurricane, and was born in March, 2009.
Further down the order, Romeo Neo took fourth place, after going in from trap number six. He was the least favourite to make an impression, with a starting price of 12 to 1, but still gave a solid fight to the front runners.
Last two places went to Helenas Impact and Don Henry, who lacked the speed and stamina to make an impression at Hove.
Overall, the race was quite an impressive one, as there was a tough battle amongst the top four runners.
