Face cleaning products tat work in the UK!!?

please help i have asked loads of questiosabout face cleaning products but there all US only stuff does anyone know of any face cleaning products that acctually work and are availible in the UK i have lillte bumping spots and the occational zit and combination skin and realy want something that can give me pretty much perfect skin in 2 months max

well first of all i would suggest you try some natural remedies to cure your skin problem.

a product that you can get is called Freederm. (at chemists)

it really depends how much you are willing to spend!

the stuff that works really well which i steal off my mum and sister is Clinique stuff which can be got at like Boots and John Lewis and Selfridges and whatnot but it's cost a bob so that depends...

the thing my sister gave me is Clinique anti-blemish solutions body spray which you spray onto a cotton wool pad and wipe around your face.

This other thing i stole off my mum which she gets from John Lewis is Elemis herbal lavender repair mask which you dab on various spots and leave on for ten minutes [but i leave it over night] til it hardens and then you wash it off. It dries up the spots see but it costs like 15 quid!

if you havn't got the money for this [recessions n whatnot!] then Garnier is really good, the detox exfoliation wash is what i use cos of the little beads which scrape away the dead skin

Iam a Registered Nurse and I specialize in skin care and teen acne.

If your skin is dry form over the counter acne products that's a case in most people. Reason being is because they contain too much benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid or sulfur.  Too much of it can OVER DRY, IRRITATE and cause IRRITATION!!!

In my experience of 12 years alot of commercial store bought products DO NOT WORK!

As far as scrubbing or exfoliating it depends on your age. You dont want to over scrub or exfoliate because depending on your breakouts you may end up spreading the bacteria from one breakout to the other making it worse!

Your question is very broad and you need to get professional advice. I will explain why it's a broad question!

Your age plays a role! How old are you? Do you always have breakouts?

However, acne can result from several factors such an increase in hormone levels. In males testosterone or androgens. In females, androgens respectively. The increase in androgen levels can stimulate the oil glands to become enlarged and thus more oil production is produced. An increased oil production can clog the pores with oil or sebum ( white thick substance) which cause the cell walls of the pores in the skin to breakdown. This process allows bacteria to form and thus breakouts develop.

Genetics may also be a cause. It is a myth that greasy food or chocolate causes breakouts.

However, using make-up sponges that are not changed or washed often can contaminate the pores with bacteria which may develop into acneic breakouts.

If you are a teenager ( which I assume that you are) your hormones play a definite role in your breakouts.

If you have severe breakouts than you might need medication. There are many factors.

The most important thing is that you need products that are AGE APPROPRIATE! Every age group has different products appropriate for them. If you are young than you need milder products as to not dry out your beautiful young skin.

The problem with commercial skin products is that they are manufactured for MASSES OF PEOPLE and are not specifically made for different peoples' needs.

Your skin type is different than mine and your age differs from mine so how is it logical that we both use the same skin product for breakouts. We need different strengths of cleansers and toners. Do you kind of understand what I am getting at?

Perfect skin in 2months? doubtful!

Even prescribed products cant give results like that! Personally I bought some gloves from Boots to wear in the shower that exfoliate, I use them on my whole body and my face and give amazing skin results, they cost about £3.50 and while using them I use a mild moisturising body lotion and then wash my face with garnier face wash (cant remember what type, its a blue bottle with a push down nozzle) thats about £3.50 too, I only do this once a day, not like the bottle recommends for twice a day!

Unfortunately all our skins work differently, its a case of finding what works for you!
