Facebook Photo Tagging help!!!?

Right it gets confusing so I'll use numbers lol:

There's a photo of person 1. and person 2. but they arent' facebook friends but person 2. is tagged person 1.isnt... But person 1. has a friend who is facebook friends with person 2. who did the tagging... if person 2. were to untag themself would person 1. know?

  1. No, not unless they specifically went to the picture and saw it was no longer tagged.  They would not receive notification of any type.
