Facebook isn't like myspace, you have a layout determined by the makers and cannot change it. There is a petition to have coloured facebook profile, but this is as far as it goes. It's cheaper and easier on their server and also means they can limit the offenceiveness of other people.

The only the you can change is what applications, info is viewed by certain people and how to arrange the boxes/applications.
