Question:

Facial hair growing faster on one side of the face?

Whenever I shave, when my facial hair grows back, it always grows quicker on the right side of my face.

Is this normal? Or does it indicate a brain tumor?

I'm 16 years old.

  1. It's normal. It happened to me a few years ago when I just started to shave. After a while it evens out this was when I was about 14 -15 and now I'm 17 and it's basically gone.

I don't think it indicates a brain tumor though- that is something you may want to ask a doctor about.

  2. My beard was also thicker and faster growing on one side, actually this was true under my arms and elsewhere.  But it evened out by age 19.  Probably not a brain tumor, but the relief you may feel from talking to a doctor about it is really very worthwhile.  If you can get a physical, ask about it, or write it down and hand it to the doctor.  As you are beginning to shave, this is probably common to have some variance, but find out more, and feel secure knowing it's ok.

  3. naw it's just hormonal imbalance

  4. I think it's just one of those things, like your ears not being equal, eyes off center, or whatever.  I only grow hair on the right side of my chest.  When I was young, I worried it was an indication of heart disease, like the hair wouldn't grow in "bad soil".

  5. it's completely normal.

and i'll tell you a way to possibly fix it....possibly.

if you're a side sleeper and you sleep on a certain side, the higher elevated side gets more blood i.e. nutrients.  this is why many people experience faster hair growth on one side of their head.  try switching up sides when sleeping.

this may help. but many men have blotchy facial hair patterns.  i know mine was really blotchy when i was younger (concentrated mostly in the goatee area) but it eventually evens out with age.
