Facial hair not changing color?

so, i cant grow colored facial hair. im 17, and i feel very out of place in my high school, i think everyone can but me. i shave constantly, and dosnt change color (so that theory is bullsh*t, dont even waste my time saying to shave, it does not grow thicker and darker). ive been able to grow since.. i think around june 2007 (i first noticed that i had a beard that was virtually invisible around july 4th, so im guessing it was about a month before) and still hasnt changed color. same with my chest hair/arm hair. my leg hair is dark, like, really dark, but nothing else is.

any ideas on why it is still not getting darker? :/

  1. The darkness is really only noticable when it's left to grow some. So if you're looking for darkness, leave it a while and as it gets longer you'll notice it being thicker.

  2. Facial hair does not always match head, body, or pubic hair in color. One guy I know has a red beard but everything else is black.

Let your sideburns grow long - even if they are blond or clear, they will show up.

I have a red beard, but the whiskers grow out clear for 1/8" or so, then turn red. My guess is that the pigment has to oxidize to become visible [similar to the plant dye indigo I guess].

If you were late to get puberty [see http://www.fpnotebook.com/Endo/Exam/MlTn... a bit more time may change things.

  3. facial hair is gross.

it's good that you can't see it.

  4. in puberty stage that's why it's referred to as "peach fuzz" ever notice the peach fuzz on a peach, it's so light colored there really is no color.  give your body time to fully grow and then you'll be on here asking how to reduce so much facial hair.
