Fiction. It is not the cold/rain that gets you sick, but infact the germs and viruses which live easier in cold. That is why it is such a common misconception that people get sick from cold/rain. :)

I walk in the rain often and have never caught a cold from it.

i believe that walking being in the rain can give you a cold.  your body is working to keep you warm, which makes it easier to get sick. however, it doesnt happen often so dont worry about it.
