its actually fairly easy

when ever a problem is

x^2-n^2 (where n is any number) (i.e. x^2 - 36)

you can simply change it to (x+n)(x-n)

because if you simplify it using the FOIL method:

x^2+xn-xn-n^2

x^2-n^2

thus,

x^2-25 is simplfied to x^2-5^2 and then to

(x-5)(x+5)
