  1. take out a common factor, 2y

    2y(2x-2x-15)

    2y(-15)

    -30y

  2. I'm assuming that the x2 is x to the 2nd power...

    First factor out what each have in common... a 2y by dividing by 2y...

    2y(x^2 - 2x - 15) then find factors of 15 ... 3 * 5 and combine them so that when mulipiled back out you get the middle number...

    2y(x - 5)(x + 3)

  3. Is that second two supposed to be an exponent?  I mean, is it actually:

    2x²y - 4xy - 30y

    If that is the case, then first you would factor out a 2y:

    2y (x² - 2x - 15)

    Then you would factor the part in parentheses, to get the result:

    2y (x - 5) (x + 3)

  4. first you factor out a 2.

    2(xy - 2xy - 15y)

    next factor out y

    2y(x - 2x - 15).  this is the final answer

  5. You have multiples of 2y in each expression so factor it out:

    (2x2y divided by 2y equals 2x; 4xy divided by 2y equals 2x and 30y divided by 2y equals 15)

    2y ( 2x - 2x - 15) ----> Now, 2x - 2x = 0:

    2y ( 0 - 15)

    2y ( - 15 )  ----> 2 times -15 is -30; times y = -30y:

    -30y
