  1. Venus the Roman name for the Greek goddess Aphrodite. It is the second planet from the Sun. Its surface temperature is very hot measuring int he hundreds of degrees. These high temperatures are due to high amounts of CO2 in the atmosphere acting as a giant greenhouse holding in the heat. Inversely the heavily clouded sky of Venus reflect most sunlight. The air pressure is enormous; any astronaut able to survive the extreme heat of the surface would feel like he or she is moving through water because of the tremendous amounts of pressure. The surface is very volcanically active so many surfaces on Venus are relatively new compared to Earth surfaces. The clouds of Venus contain high amounts o hydrochloric acid and it is thought life might be able to develop in microbe form in some layers of cloud able to sustain liquid water. The core of Venus is very active but lacks a magnetic dynamo within like Earth's so it has no magnetic field (magnetosphere) except for a slight magnetic field produce in the clouds. Several probes have been sent to Venus.

This was very broad and not very in depth. For more specific information check out Wikipedia. If you need to cite your sources don't use Wikipedia. Try and find your info elsewhere.

  2. Check out this website. There is a podcast you can listen to on your computer (sorry no video). The hosts are  professional astronomers who explain things in simple, understandable terms. There are also links in the show notes which can provide you with a ton of additional info if you want to do some follow up on your own. Good luck and enjoy!
