  1. They don't store food in their humps. Chipmunks and squirrels store food in their cheeks, but inside an animal's body is fat. The camel humps are made of fat. There is no reason why Bactrians have two humps and Dromedaries have one. That's just how they are. Its like blue jays being blue or robins being brown or black and red. They do not spit. They vomit. When they are threatened or are defending themselves, they will vomit. If you don't spook your camel or treat her badly, she will not spit. Camels also can handle dehydration to a degree that would kill other animals. They can drink 140 pounds of water in one go.  And they have lovely big brown eyes.

  2. They store food in their back humps not water. They can go without food for about a week and without water for more then a week. When they get a chance to drink they drink up many a gallons of water so they can store it in their body for later use. Im not sure in which part they store their water in.

  3. They are very tasty cigarettes.

  4. There are two species of camels, Camelus bactrianus and Camelus dromedarius.

Bactrian camels have two hump, and Dromedary camels have one.

Dromedaries come from North Africa and the Middle East, Bactrians come from central Asia.

You can remember which is which because the letter B when turned on it's side has 2 humps, and the letter D has one when turned on it's side.

The closest living relative to the camels are the Llamas and Alpacas of South America.

  5. They do not store water in their trunk.
