Facts about polar shifts.

Question

Hello again.

I've been reading about the polar shift idea and I could really use some help with the research.

The theory is (and no I didn't fall for it) that the polar shifting process in a way "resets" our magnetic field, first lowering it to 0 and then "restarting" it again to full power.

What I can't figure out is what kind of an effect that would have on us, to all life on the planet.

I mean without the shield we would literally be cooked.

Polar shifting is said to already have occurred, but if it had, wouldn't it had also destroyed all life (if the shield thing is true)?

Please help me, can't say I'm worried, more like confused here...

Some people say one thing, others another.

A link to a certified scientific site (like NASA) would also be great.

well you said it. all life on earth would be wiped out. solar radiation would literaly cook the earth in a matter of days. and yes it did happen before over 50 million years ago a polar shift destroyed almost all life on earth. luckaly some life managed to rapidly evolve and live in caves and stuff. once the poles re set rapid cooling of the earth triggered an ice age witch caused even more evolution. soon after humans first walked the earth.
