Facundo Arguello cripples Jesse Huta Galung in second round – Copa Sevilla 2012
Argentinean starlet, Facundo Arguello, devastated the Dutch Challenger, Jesse Huta Galung, with a breadstick at the Copa Sevilla 2012 on Wednesday. He jolted down a 6-4, 6-1 victory against the 26-year-old to power into the quarter-finals at this outdoor
clay court tournament taking place in Seville, Spain.
The Argentinean rising star displayed awe-inspiring skills to crush Huta Galung in one hour and 29 minutes. After pulling out the victory in their first encounter, Arguello comfortably progressed into the final eight at this ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals)
Challenger Tour event.
Arguello thundered into the Real Club de Tenis Betis. He drew the first blood in the opening game to take the initial lead. The Argentine held his composure after that and swiped his remaining serves, eventually clinching the opener with a 6-4 score line.
He dusted away both breakpoints he came across and cashed in one out of eight break chances to manipulate a 6-4 score line.
Ranked 212th in the South African Airways ATP World Tour Rankings, Arguello’s skills were fully polished in the following set. He got the critical break in the opening game and jumped to a 2-0 lead. After Huta Galung held his serve in the third
game, the Argentinean reeled off four games in a row and clicked the set with a breadstick.
The 20-year-old manifested a better first serve share of 76 per cent in contrast with Huta Galung’s 57 per cent and tremendously marked 29 out of 42 points on it. He failed to smash an ace but registered 65 points in the end of the match.
The Argentine shocked the top seed, Roberto Bautista-Agut, in straight sets en route to the last eight. He will face off the former world number five, Tommy Robredo, who dumped the Dutch qualifier, Nick Van Der Meer, in straight sets to reach this spot.
Serbia’s Boris Pashanski will accompany the Argentine in the quarter-finals. He swiftly bagged his entire serves and cashed in all five break opportunities to clobber a 6-1, 6-2 score line against the eighth seed, Nicolas Devilder. The Serb required 52 minutes
to steal the show and advance.
