Fade To Grey likely to prevail in Visit attheraces.com/punchestown Handicap
Fade To Grey has been rated favourite for the Visit attheraces.com/punchestown Handicap at Wolverhampton in England on Tuesday, April 24, 2012. The winning horse will bag a cash prize of £1,704 in the end.
The stamina of all runners will be tested in this race, as they will have to cover an overall distance of 2 miles and 119 yards. The going will be standard and the action will begin at 15:55 GMT.
Following nine runners will be seen in action in the race: Hit The Switch, Cloudy Start, Corvette, Fade To Grey, Hallstatt, St Ignatius, Godwit, Kavaloti and Leyte Gulf.
Seasoned runner, Vertueux, will miss the action due to an injury. He has participated in 41 races overall, winning five of them. He was in decent form and could have won today’s event, had he taken part in it.
At the moment, it seems that Fade To Grey will bring up his fifth victory, as he is in good form right now. He has got plenty of experience, taking part in 19 races. However, his strike rate might discourage the punters from risking money on him.
The eight-year-old gelding has won four races out of 19 attempts whereas finished runner up on a couple of occasions. In addition to that, he also took the third spot on three times. This goes onto suggest that he is quite capable of challenging his
opponents, but will need to push a little harder in order to finish on top of the table.
In his most recent race, the Shaun Lycett’s trained runner finished third overall. He was not the favourite to win, but gave a tough time to the top two finishers. He will be partnered by Kieren Fallon today. The veteran jockey has won plenty of events
at this level and has a decent strike rate. He will be looking forward to another strong show.
Other than the race favourite, Hit The Switch will also be the one to watch out for in the race. He has won six races out of 36 attempts, but does not have the momentum to deliver a strong show at Wolverhampton today.
Cloudy Start will be the other runner, who might attract some bets in his favour, as he is a fierce competitor.
