I have a problem with my clothes fading around the collar, especially polos & light blue clothes. It even affects hand towels, bath mats, wash clothes, I also have some pillow cases that look like I poured bleach on them, but just where my neck goes. I have a skin condition that makes me have to use baby oil & lotion everytime I get out of th shower, even in the summer, it's been like this ever since I was young (I'm 35). Anyone with similiar experience?

  1. It's the baby oil that is fading your laundry.

  2. This problem is being caused by the baby oil and lotion mixture it is leaving a white residue behind, this can be removed with some White Vinegar poured onto the areas that are white and left for a few hours then scrubed with some Baking soda and White Vinegar mixed and left for half hour then washed as usual, you can scrub with an old toothbrush this will help remove the cakiness of the lotion and baby oil Good Luck !

  3. I don't know if you skin is giving off something, but more likely the lotion has something. For example some lotions have alcohols in them that will dilute dyes. Also the oils may be affectng the dyes. Curious it's especially affecting light blues....something about blue dye.........is that indigo?
