http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Faf-du-Plessis-c1427: Indian players facing adaptability issues in CLT20 – Cricket News Update
The Indian players are finding it difficult to adapt quickly to the playing conditions in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 and that is one realistic reason behind the IPL teams’ struggle in the ongoing Champions League T20 tournament, reckons the Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Faf du Plessis.
"You've got to get used to the conditions quickly and most IPL teams are starting off slowly because these are very different conditions for them," observed du Plessis, a South African all-rounder who is playing for his IPL franchise, Chennai Super Kings, in the ongoing CLT20.
"The teams who are used to these conditions, The Australian and South African teams are doing well," he added further.
All of the four Indian Premier League teams playing in the latest edition of the esteemed Twenty20 league, being held in the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ian-Harold-King-c63858 nation, have struggled to impress with their performances in the tournament so far.
Whilst defending champions Mumbai Indians, 2010 victors Chennai Super Kings and the reigning IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders are yet to register a win in the tournament, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780 Daredevils won their opening fixture against Knight Riders.
Du Plessis’ IPL franchise lost by six wickets to a local outfit, Highveld Lions, here at Newlands last night, to slump to their second successive defeat in the Twenty20 showpiece, featuring the domestic T20 teams from around the world.
The CSK opener feels his side was a bit unlucky not to have defended a par total of 158 for six, against an opposition with relatively less international experience.
"I think they bowled really well and we were a little unlucky," said the South African top-order batsman during a post-match media encounter on Tuesday.
"It's just that the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gulam-Bodi-c1512 got away with a few lucky edges for fours and he could've been out any of these times. I thought our pacers bowled very well up front," du Plessis added further.
With two defeats in two games, the Super Kings now find themselves in quite a difficult position to qualify for the semi-finals, and need to win the next two group fixtures to have any chance of staying alive in the tournament. The 2010 CLT20 champs will next take on defending champions http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 Indians, at New Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg, on Saturday.
