Faf du Plessis believes batting will come good – Cricket News Update

The ongoing series against the Aussies is the Proteas’ first competitive outing after a disappointing World Cup 2011, where they went out in the quarter-finals of the tournament.
Plessis was quick to point out that the six-month break has left the players a little behind from the other cricketing nations, however, feels that the team will find their feet in the coming matches.
"Our batters have been under firing," du Plessis said. "I'm not using an excuse, but we have not played much cricket. That will just get better and better with more time in the middle. In the nets, the guys are batting beautifully. Personally, I've seen
a bit of the Aussies now and I feel a bit more comfortable."
After losing the first T20 due to a lack luster performance from the batters, the batting lapses almost led the Proteas to hand the second t20 game to their opponents; however an unlikely Rusty Theron- http://www.senore.com/Cricket/WD-Parnell-c2787 heroics helped them to share the spoils.
The three-match fifty-over series also has not started smoothly, where the weak link again was the South African upper and middle-order, failing to come to terms with some precise bowling by their opponents.
Du Plessis though is not too fazed by the criticism and is backing the abilities of his teammates to ensure they stand up and take the added responsibility.
"There were situations when we were down in series before, and then the guys stand up and play proper cricket, so we take it as nothing different this time around," du Plessis said. "We don't see it as extra pressure; just see it as another game."
There has been key personnel changes to the Proteas back-room staff, which has seen them install former player, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gary-Kirsten-c58527, the head coach. Kirsten led the Indians to the World Cup 2011 triumph and with him taking the helm; one will hope of a swift turnaround
in the team’s fortune.
The second One Day game will be played on the 23rd of October at Port Elizabeth.
