Fafsa aplication question?

in the page where it ask you for your parents income , is telling me to put the income of my dad and then the one of my mom , but they did their income tax TOGETHER and therefore it is the same quantity of money for both of them, i cannot put the same amount because i did it like that once and they told me to fix it cause it couldnt be like that , so what am i supposed to put there ?

  1. you have to put you mom and dads separate

    you need your mom and dads w-4 form that tells how much they each made individually

    why don't you have them help you


  2. On your parents tax return, it should show on the previous W-2's or the line items the seperate incomes. You should be ok.

The second answerer is right.  Your parents would have added their incomes together in order to file taxes as a married couple.  They should have the information you need, since their employers send each of them a list, called a w-2, that says exactly what each of them earned last year.  Call the parents, and I bet they'll have the information.

  4. Try just putting it on the head of household only and leaving the other blank.

    Or just call them up and ask them to clarify. I can't imagine this being that complicated if a lot of people have married parents.

  5. put it on one of theirs and dont put anything on the other, my parents are devorsed, ask them who would have costody if you were a dependent and put it on theirs.
