Fafsa deadline: is it for submitting your application or...?

the deadline for the fafsa 2007-2008 schoolyear is coming up.

is the deadline for

-submitting your application or

-do you have to receive the notice that tells you how much you're eligible for AND submit it to your school for reimbursment by that date?

  1. The FAFSA should ideally be file by mid-March in order to be eligible for the most funding. You can of course file it at any time and take your chances on whatever funding is not yet awarded by the school. Government funding is an entitlement, so it doesn't run out at any point.

    You will receive a Student Aid Report. This information will be sent to the schools you designated on the FAFSA. The school will send you a specific award letter.

    I'm not sure what you mean by "reimbursement." I think you are referring to "disbursement." Financial aid is disbursed at the beginning of each term. Your tuition and fees are paid first and any extra is released to you.
