I have been trying to fill out my fafsa, and never get it finished because i don't have my parents info. i dont talk to them so I'd rather do it without it, but since they are incredibly broke would it be better to have theirs on there?

  1. The fafsa will most likely require their info unless you are married or at least twenty four years of age.  Whether you talk to your parents or not, the government considers their income when deciding on your award.  If it is a real problem, talk to a financial aid counselor or call the info number on the fafsa to see if there is another way.

  2. it depends on if you r dependent or independent. if u take care of yourself then u dont need your parents info. u use the info of whoever provides for u.

  3. If the application is saying you need it, then you need it.  No matter how rich or broke they are.  Call them and tell them that you need it.  Them providing it does not mean they are going to be required to pay for your school.  On the contrary, by proving it they will be allowing you to pay for college on your own.

    Good luck..
