Failed drug test at meps HELP

Question

When I enlisted for the Marine Corps I admitted to smoking marijuana twice at the end of April or beginning of May which was true. I took my Drug test on June 11th. Even though I admitted to using my MOS Data Sytems was still available. I ended up failing and losing all the jobs I wanted exept for a few jobs for dummies. Is there any way I can still get my job if when I go back to restest I talk to the commanding officer or the one in charge of the Marine Liason and explain that I tested dirty for what I admitted to doing and if I had any idea I would of tested dirty I would of waited to go down. Please help I don't want to be stuck doping combat support.

failing the drug test at MEPS: you are d**n lucky they are still allowing you enlist PERIOD.

your chance at any other job is done until you re enlist, and then only if you have  earned the chance.  

ZERO tolerance means exactly that.  

oh and never mind army guy:  that failed drug test will be the first thing that pops up when the Army recruiter  punches in your Social security number..and he won't even talk to you.

Sounds to me like you lucked up....Watch the movie Beyond Treason,it's free on google video....You may have saved your own life...If you're gonna be dumb enough to join the military then join the coast guard..I would recommend not smoking pot and not telling anyone you ever smoked pot...

well your first mistake is that you admitted to using drugs. but since you already made that mistake here is what you can do:

1: talk to your recruiter. if he tells you that you dont have a way to get your MOS back then tell him thank you for the help and tell him that you would like to expand your options and you are going to talk to the Army. you dont have to actually talk to them, however i suggest that you do. if that does not work then you should definitly try to talk to the career advisor at MEPS and also the MEPS commanding officer.    if all else fails then i suggest seriously considering the Army.  i hope this helps

I don't know how anyone can help you on this one.  They take this stuff very very serious.  Didn't your recruiter give you any help on this??
