Question:

Fair Trade? Volquez and Hermida for Pedro and Ludwick?

I am in need of power and my other pitchers are:

Johan Santana, Ervin Santana, Matt Cain, Billingsley, Verlander. Is this a good trade to make. I haven't had success trying to trade Volquez straight up for anyone.

Any advice?

  1. Volquez is actually the most valuable player out of the players int he trade. Ludwick is doing good but, in my opinion you are giving up a good amount more than what you would be recieving. Pedro has been injury prone last couple of years and Volquez although doing good has a good chance to slump real soon as well as Ludwick. Both are virtually unproven. Hermida is actually the key player in the trade. He is a consitant player even though he wont get you as much stats as a player such as a Rios or a Hunter (obviously). But i think you could get better out of those 2 than what you would be getting. Also.... Volquez is the best pitcher in fantasy at the moment!

  2. I wouldn't do it either. The mets are a sinking ship.

  3. I wouldn't do it. Ludwick will not give you great power numbers. He is a good player but nowhere near the same level as Volquez. Volquez has been the best pitcher this year. You are getting Pedro who can get hurt any day and be out for another month. I would look to trade Verlander or Ervin Santana for a power hitter. A rotation with Johan Santana and Edinson Volquez is probably the best in your league. Try and trade one of those top guys for a Carlos Lee, Vlad Guerrero, or maybe an Adam Dunn if you need home runs that bad.
