Fairest Rumble is number one in A2 race at Hall Green
Everyone strives to be number one in life, and the same can be said about the greyhounds that participate in the 480m races at the Hall Green Greyhound Stadium in Birmingham. Fairest Rumble
was one of the many dogs who placed first on Wednesday 24 November, and she did so in an exciting A2 race.
Coming out of trap one, Fairest Rumble (3-1) moved slowly away and crowded the three-quarter mark. However, she rebounded quickly and led the run in, finishing in fine form with a time
of 29.04. Finishing a neck’s length behind her was Tyrur Rodge (5-10). He went wide early on, but ran on well to complete the race in 29.06.
Quare Survivor (6-1) held an early pace and crowded three-quarters. She would go on to claim third place in 29.09, missing second place by a neck. Ask Flash (9-2) was the fourth-place
finisher. She held an early pace and soon led to third, but crowded third and fourth. She would go on to post a time of 29.15, which placed her ¾ lengths out of the top three.
Fifth place belonged to Dainty Billy, the 6-4 favourite. An early pace allowed him to challenge third, but he would end up crowding at the third bend. His time of 29.16 was a head behind
Ask Flash. Piercestown Top (8-1) was not the top dog in this race, as he brought up the rear. He moved very slowly away and went wide, resulting in a 29.26 finish that was 1¼ lengths out of fifth place.
Compass Zoe (11-4) pointed herself north, and ended up winning the A3 race that followed. A strong start from trap three allowed her to lead the pack for the majority of the race, and
she finished well in 28.81. Finishing only a ½ length behind her was Marigold Echo (4-1). She held an early pace, went wide, and was always handy, locking up second place in 28.85.
Third place went to 7-4 favourite Dukes Jester. He moved slowly away and crowded first, losing 3¾ lengths in the process. He crossed the finish line with a time of 29.15. Matching Dukes
Jester’s time was Glencarra Leader (4-1). After crowding first, she wound up finishing a shoulder’s length out of the top three.
Niebo (5-1) failed to capitalize on a clear run, going wide to finish fifth in 29.31, which was 2 lengths behind Glencarra Leader. Burnpark Debbie (5-1) moved slowly away, went wide, and
crowded first to take last place in 29.45. She was 1¾ lengths out of the number five spot.
The greyhound races at Hall Green Greyhound Stadium will resume on Friday 26 November. The first race of the evening will begin at 19:25.
