Question:

Fairly Odd Parents "Pregnant Cosmo"?

I dont think that they should have made it so that Cosmo got pregnant. In my opinion I think it might confuse kids into thinking that boys have babies. My poor nephew, after we watched it, he said to my sister "Hey mommy! You can let daddy have the baby!"

I fell off the couch laughing. (but he is only 3 so that was my auntie moment) Then we told him that God wants the girls to have the babies because he knows that they will take care of it. Man are we going to have an interesting "where do babies come from" conversation when he gets older. X)

But what are your thoughts on that? Any funny stories to go along?

  1. just explain that its a silly cartoon, just like people don't have fairies to grant them wishes.

  2. My thoughts are "who cares" it is a cartoon isn't it?  Then my thoughts are why are you teaching your son to be a couch potato to begin with.  My kids (5, 8 and 11) don't even watch Fairly Odd Parents...they don't watch many cartoons in fact.  They get an hour of television a day and I monitor what they view.

  3. That is so funny! Me and my 5 yr old were just talking about that last night...I mentioned to him that boys cant have babys and he said yes they can,  I saw it on a cartoon! I asked him what cartoon this was and he said fairly odd parents. I told him I dont want you watching that cartoon again. I guess we just have to prepare ourselves for stupid TV its getting out of hand though in my opinion.

  4. Huh ... they shouldn't have made cosmo pregnant... older kids might get the joke.

Yeah, my 4 year old son a few days ago ... he was looking up in the sky watching birds fly by. He said .. Mommy, where do birds come from? I said, Eggs ... oh ... hmm .. Deep thinking, where do eggs come from? ... Well ... the eggs come from nests. Noooo Mommy! How do they get in the nest? Mommy and daddy birds make them! ... Oh ... How? ... Well ... when mommy and daddy birds fall in love, the eggs start growing. Ohhh ...

  5. I think that show is kind of inappropriate but funny.  I didn't see it, as my son is not allowed to watch it.  It's rated Y7, meaning it's not recommended for kids under the age of 7.

Now, for the funny stories.  I was pregnant in January with our second baby, whom we unfortunately lost to a miscarriage.  My son went over to my mother - in - law's house on the day that we were going to tell her about the new baby.  He said in a sly voice, "There's something in Mommy's tummy!"  When asked what it was, he said, "Um, I think it's pasta."

My sister - in - law is expecting her first baby.  Not long after my son found out, he was sitting at the dinner table after a big meal.  He lifted up his shirt and said, "Woah, my tummy's full!  I think I have a baby in there."
