  1. Fairy tale in general, or Cinderella? I'm doing a Cinderella theme in a little less than 2 years.

I'm ordering alot of stuff from here: (guest books, toasting glasses, etc.)

For favors, I'm going to make my castle lollipops:

    Unity Candle coming from here:

These are going to be part of my centerpieces (My bridesmaids will be in light blue and I'm getting some glass bowls from Hobby Lobby. Will put either light blue sand or clear marbles in the bowls, and this will sit on top...Only difference is that I'm using the white instead of pewter, because the dress I want has gold accents.):

Prelude Music for the ceremony/Dinner Music at Reception/Me and My Honey's first dance song:

And, the creme de la creme, my cake... (not the greatest pic, but you get the idea...):

    **Edit**

Forgot about the invitations. I'm making them myself, and there's a charcoal castle in the background, with the invitation wording in front. I found a quote that I absolutely love..."Every once in a while, right in the middle of an ordinary life, love brings us a fairy tale..." I downloaded the Walt Disney font off of the net and am using that for the font. It fits with my theme, AND it still looks classy enough for a wedding invite. Will probably use the same type of set up for my Save The Dates, Reception (if I use them) and RSVP, and Thank Yous.

**Edit** Here's the link for the white castles that I'm going to use in the centerpieces:

  2. Here's a great site with gowns, accessories, and beautiful hairstyles. The decor in the backgrounds will give you some good ideas;

    I found this great glittery mask on eBay;

    It sounds wonderful!

  3. a cinderella wedding gown of course. lol.

hmm I don't know what else.  sparkling lights around the reception hall? (not tacky ones, but nice dainty sparkling white lights)

you could have a arbour over you when you say I do that has nice vines wound through it.  That feels very fairy tale to me.

A pumpkin carriage? lol.  Honestly, if I could fine a white pumpkin carriage like Cinderella had I would totally take it.  how gorgeous would that be? (not some orange thing, but the white one lol)

  4. Do you have a specific Fairy Tale in mind? Like Cinderella, Snow White, etc.? Or - do you plan to combine a lot of different fairy tales?

LOCATION AND DÉCOR  The most appropriate Location will be a Castle, a mansion, a ballroom that over looks a garden or a garden setting. However, any location will do if you decorate emphasizing your wedding theme.

INDOOR RECEPTION VENUE Decorate any reception facility to project your Cinderella - Fairy Tale theme, using a lot of pastel colored tulle, satin ribbons, bows, pearl, bells, birds, coaches, castles, red roses, ivory decorations, pumpkins and don't forget a RED CARPET. You may also opt for a backdrop of the palace entrance with a staircase on each side. Your local theater or college drama group may have appropriate props on loan or for rental. OUTDOORS RECEPTION VENUE Check if your garden setting has a Garden Path and if so place container candles on both sides. Enhance the atmosphere of your garden setting wedding with your Cinderella -Fairy Tale theme by adding trellises and arches adorned with flowers and ivy, a decorated gazebo and white chairs draped in tulle.

WEDDING COLORS  Pastels: Pink, Green, Lavender, Blue, and Yellow, as well as Ivory White.

FLOWERS  Other than red roses, your flowers should be of subdued colors. Theme appropriate flowers include: Baby's Breath, Camellias, Gardenias, Hyacinth, Irises, Ivy, Lilac, Lily of the Valley, Orchids, Roses, Stephanotis and, Tulips.

RECEPTION TABLE  If you can locate and afford an ice sculpture made to depict a castle, a horse drawn carriage or a "Glass Slipper" ice sculpture made for the centre of the reception table.

Centerpieces Use wishing wells decorated with ribbons, roses and birds, and have your Maid of Honor or Best man suggest that guests use the back of their place cards and write down their wishes or advice for the bride and groom. These wishes and advice will become your treasured keepsakes. You may even read them over every year as you celebrate your anniversary. When you write your thank you notes to your guests, include a thank you for their wonderful wish and/or advice. Another centerpiece idea, is using horse drawn coaches and / or castles for Cinderella - Fairy Tale type table centerpieces whichever you choose, place magic wands on the tables too. You may wish to refresh your knowledge of the Cinderella - Fairy Tale theme. So, why not watch some movie versions of the story and as you do, jot down ideas and make yours a UNIQUE Cinderella - Fairy Tale wedding!

FAVORS - PLACE CARD HOLDERS  Order our Cinderella "glass slipper" for your favors Fairy Tale favor boxes, silver bell Favors place card holders, crystal bells, crystal shoes.

MUSIC  In order to reflect your wedding theme, choose your music to match. Whether you prefer a DJ, or actual performers get scores or sound track of the movie Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast and favorite songs such as "When you wish upon a star" for background music classical string quartet, a harpist or a solo pianist will be perfect and for dancing, have plenty of waltzes.  The bride and groom's first dance should be a waltz.

DANCING  Just before your first dance - a waltz, have your prince charming present you with a slipper (high heel shoe - clear in color if possible) to try on. If you can not find a clear shoe, you can make it symbolic rather than real by having him present you with a crystal shoe.

WEDDING CAKE  If your budget allows and your cake artist can do so, have your cake look like a castle with steps leading up to the top. This is a rather tall order (excuse the pun).  If you opt for a less costly cake or can not find an artist, have an ivory layered cake, decorated with roses, bows and ribbons and topped with either a horse drawn carriage or a castle. Anyone who sees your cake will recognize your wedding theme right away. Place white flickering "Christmas" lights under cotton balls around your Cinderella - Fairy Tale wedding cake for that magic effect. For additional fun, have a Charm Pull for your bridesmaids.

BRIDE´S ATTIRE  Wear a beautiful sweeping bell shape Cinderella - Fairy Tale type gown, a Tiara a heart necklace or preferably a string of pearls necklace with or without matching accessories.

SHOES  For the wedding wear shoes that complement your attire. To add a Cinderella touch find "glass" actually clear plastic high heel shoes and have your prince charming present you with a slipper to try on before your first bride and groom dance - a

  5. I love the idea of naming each of your tables instead of numbering them. Name each one a different fairtale, then decorate each table to go with the theme.

There are lots of fairytale decorations you can find on the internet as well. Cake Toppers, Place card holders, everything.

  6. Definately go for feathers in your centrepieces and glitter!! you can buy butterflys with glitter on in lots of colours. stick with light pinks, or ice blues for the colour scheme.

  7. You could do a Cinderella wedding.

Get married in a castle looking church.

    Wear dress like her.

I like a fairy tale wedding like Cinderella.   Prince and Cinderella show up in a stunning coach to get married in a pretty castle like church. Where  Cinderella is wearing a very stunning wedding/ball gown and after church they release some doves.   I don't know if I did this right, but that's what I like.

Anyway I think a fairy tale wedding is going to be awesome. =)

  8. oh blah ... some people never stop thinking they are cinderella

  9. Go to fairytaleweddingstore.com

  10. -you could rent a horse and carriage to take you to the ceremony and reception locations

-fairy lights EVERYWHERE - they add ambience and make everything look glowy and fairy tale beautiful

-favors could have a notecard attached saying 'when you wish upon a star... your dreams come true'

-the reception tables could be named after different fairytales ie. Cinderella's table, Hansel and Gretel's table, Peter Pan's table etc.

-reception menu could be 'fairy food' - have miniature foods, fairy sized, and include whimsical details - google disneyland menus for inspiration

This link also provides an idea of a fairytale themed menu, with the foods named after various fairytale characters
