Fairy tales = bad messages? 10 points?

Can you guys help me think of bad messages that are being sent to kids in each fairytale. Example: Cinderella, Snow White, etc? Thank you!

Gender Inequality.  Many fairy tales suggest that women need men in order to make it in life.

Take Cinderella for example.  She didn't do anything about her circumstances, even though she was perfectly capable of turning her life around. Instead, she endured horrible abuse while  waiting for Prince Charming to come and rescue her.

Snow White - A little girl would think if you ever ate a posin apple then you would die then a prince would kiss you and then you would come alive so then they could go kill themselfs and then think a prince will kiss them and then come alive again :o

And all the time in every fairy tail the man has to save the girl and the girl is really weak and scared.

And all the time the prineses is so thin and butefuil and then if a girl is a bit chubby she will start to strav her self so she will look like a prinses!

Well first of all Snow White-being friends with 7 guys is perfectly fine.

Really in any fairy tale story...the good guy wins....the good guy isn't always going to win.

Snow White= staying with six guys come on they could have rape her what would happen if real kids actually did that it would equal tons of rape

Beauty and the Beast= staying with a beast and talking objects what if kids start talking to cups and the parent thinks something is wrong with them that would equal more retards and staying with a beast in real life should would have died on the first night in the castle

Cinderella= talking mouse or rat in real life no such thing and a pumpkin you can ride in no such thing again

Aladin= flying carpet are you kidding me what if all the kids started to take their carpets go on the roof go on the carpet then they slide down or jump off the roof with their carpets thinking they would fly with the carpet but instead more hospital bills

Sleeping Beauty= you have to kiss the girl to wake her up omg another bad message to boys what would happen if boys in real life kiss a girl when they are asleep thinking that it would save the girl it would equal bad stuff

and like in all Fairy Tales the good guy doesnt always win

The fact that all of these women werent complete without men is kind of a bad message.  Girls should learn independance.  You shouldnt trust strangers, nor should you seek refuge in somebody elses house.  And if you have an abusive stepmother, you should contact local authorities immediately.  : )

girls are being taught in all fairy tales to wait for your prince to be a helpless maiden who cant take care and save herself. thats the message and in the little mermaid and other fairytales they are barely wearing anything only a fin and a bra made of seashells. your basically telling them to be a h**r. girls should be able to take care of themselves be smart enough not to eat apple given by a strange old lady(snow white). girls should be smart and respect their bodies. and in all fairy tales they always have happy endings in real life good doesnt always win there are no happy endings. happy endings are in fairy tales only not real life. and there are some little girls out there who arent skinny like all the princesses and little girls feel pressured to have that perfect skinny body. and thats not true. those are the bad messages fairy tales send.

Depends on your child, I think we are too concerned nowadays with bad messages in fairy tales and the like. If you would be divorced or something it might not be a good message because of the evil stepmothers and sisters in all of them. If you just experienced a death, maybe snowwhite is not too good, since it gives false hope etc...

So again it depends on your child. They always end well though. The disney movies is another story, since they are more scary and deal with more mature matters sometimes. (Nemo's mommy that gets eaten for example...)

In all the "disney" fairytails the women are shown as week and in need of help from a man.  If you have a daughter make sure you teach her to be strong.

they  discovered that they were married to the same man!!
