Despite being included in the Test team, the middle-order batsman, Faisal Iqbal’s uncle and legendary former captain, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Javed-Miandad-c66580, thinks that the right-handed batsman has been hard done by the selectors.
The 30-year-old debuted for the country in 2000 but has so far failed to find a permanent spot in the national team, even though he has done well at the domestic circuit consistently.
The Karachi-born batsman was dropped after the disastrous tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758.
Javed, who is considered as one of the best http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 has ever produced, thinks that Faisal has not been treated fairly throughout his career. The former captain however, urged his nephew to keep scoring runs in first-class cricket, to prove the authorities
wrong.
"No doubt, injustice has been done to some players, including Faisal. But at the same time, as a professional, I believe if he keeps on scoring runs there is no way he will not be rewarded in time," Miandad said.
The right-hander will return home from the Island without getting an opportunity to prove his worth. The team management opted for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Ayub-c76805 in the first Test at Galle, while Misbah ul Haq was banned.
Javed thinks that Faisal should have got the chance as he is a much more experienced cricketer than Dogar, who made his Test debut on the tour.
He expressed, "But in Sri Lanka this didn't happen and it was not fair. But I don't want to create any negativity because I believe a player has his own destiny to fulfil."
The great batsman is likely to be appointed as Pakistan’s batting coach after the Sri Lankan tour. Javed maintains that his sacking in 2004 was not justifiable, when http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Robert-Andrew-Woolmer-c85587 replaced him.
The 55-year-old refused to accept any role with the team in the recent years because of personal reasons but now he is all set to work with the Men in Green.
"But now I have time and if required can also go on tours with the team. I was removed in 2004 when my contract still remained,” he added.
